Virtue of Wearing New Clothes and Giving Charity
Dressing and Eating PrayersIbn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had put on a new garment and prayed as follows:
“Praise be to Allah who clothed me with a garment that can cover my private parts and bring beauty to my life.” Then he said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) say: “Whoever puts on a new garment, says this, and then gives away his old garment in charity, will be under the protection, safeguard, and covering of Allah both in life and after death.” (Tirmidhi, Da’avat 119, (3555), Ibn Majah, Libas 2, (3557))
