Al-Wajid

The One who finds whatever He wills the moment He wills it. This name is not mentioned in the Qur'an. The word Al-Wajid means the One who finds, who brings into being, and who has need of nothing. Allah Most High finds whatever He wills, whichever creature He wills, whenever He wills, and carries out His decree. To find or to bring something into being He has no need of time, place, plan or anything else. No creature can hide from Him. Nothing can escape Him. He is in need of nothing; everything is in need of Him. Allah Almighty has no need to await a time in order to obtain something, nor to take measures to secure it. Everything is always in His presence. He carries out His decree the moment He wills, and in this there is no difficulty whatsoever for Him. There is no hardship for Him either in conveying His grace to His servants at once or in carrying out His punishment. When a person loses something he does not need, he is not counted as one who has lost. And when he obtains something not connected to his essence or the perfection of his essence, he is not called Wajid. Al-Wajid means the One in whom the matters that must necessarily be present in the chapter of divine attributes are found without His having need of them. This is present for Allah, and it is in this respect that Allah is called Al-Wajid — indeed, the Absolute Wajid. No other can be called Wajid, even if he acquires some moral virtues and perfections, because alongside these he has lost many things he could not acquire. If a servant reaches a station in which he is in no need whose knowledge would be entirely to his benefit and from which he would derive pleasure, he finds Allah — who will meet all his needs — as his Trustee.

The noble name Al-Wajid is recited 14 times as "Ya Wajid, jalla jalaluhu" so that the things one loves may not be lost. If those who suffer weakness of the heart recite the noble name Al-Wajid, saying "Ya Wajid, jalla jalaluhu", their hearts grow strong; and the knowledge of whoever recites it much increases.
