Al-Bari

The One who creates everything in perfect order. Allah Almighty says: "He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise." (Al-Hashr, 24) He is Al-Bari: the pure Creator who selects, arranges and completes what He creates upon a sound and flawless order, bringing each thing into being with qualities distinct from the others. Whatever Allah Almighty has created, He has created in perfect order. If one looks carefully, every created object and every human being has a relationship and a connection with the rest of creation. The servant has no part in this name. This name is not given to servants and they are not called creators, except perhaps in a very remote, metaphorical sense — because to create and to originate is to employ power in the manner that knowledge requires. Allah has granted the servant knowledge and ability. If through his labour a person rises to the point of inventing certain things, he is considered the inventor of those things. To acknowledge that Allah is the Creator is at the same time to acknowledge that He is Al-Bari. Whoever accepts that Allah is the Creator and the Originator believes that he himself is constantly passing from one state to another and that in the end his existence will certainly come to a close. This belief enables him to submit to Allah in complete surrender. One who knows that the true Author of events is Allah is not deeply shaken by what befalls him, his heart is not seized by profound grief, and he does not fear that his secrets will be exposed. He strictly avoids what Allah has forbidden and is always protected by taking refuge in Him. Whoever knows this name knows that everything is in Allah's hand and comes to pass by His command. He understands that there is no creator besides Him, and he sincerely observes all His commands and prohibitions.

If a woman who has no child fasts for seven days and at the time of breaking her fast recites the names "Ya Musawwir, Ya Bari, Ya Khaliq" 21 times over water and blows upon it, and breaks her fast with that water, Almighty Allah grants her a righteous child out of regard for these names. To be delivered from grief, sorrow and every kind of distress, and from material and spiritual illnesses, it is recited 213 times as "Ya Bari, jalla jalaluhu", together with supplication. If this noble name is recited a hundred times a day for seven days, one is kept safe from calamities. If this noble name is written and carried by one who is deranged, he benefits from it; and those afflicted with severe illnesses likewise benefit from it.
