Al-Khaliq

The Creator. Allah Almighty says: "O mankind, remember the favour of Allah upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the heaven and earth? There is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded?" (Fatir, 3) "That is Allah, your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He is Disposer of all things." (Al-An'am, 102) Allah Most High is the Creator of all things, and this is among His affirmative attributes. This attribute cannot be used for anyone besides Him. Creating means bringing into being without any precedent. Allah Most High is the Creator; everything besides Him is created. Everything is under His command and in His service. There is no creator besides Him. All things — the heavens, the earth, whatever lies between and within them, their movements and motions, their provisions, their appointed terms, their words and their deeds — are created. Their sole Creator is Allah. All beings were brought into existence afterwards, created from nothing. Everything began with Him and will come to its end with Him. The servant has no part in this name. This name is not given to servants and they are not called creators, except perhaps in a very remote, metaphorical sense — because to create and to originate is to employ power in the manner that knowledge requires. Allah has granted the servant knowledge and ability. If through his labour a person rises to the point of inventing certain things, he is considered the inventor of those things. The incomparability of Allah's power and the fact that He holds all things under His dominion are conveyed in these verses: "Originator of the heavens and the earth. How could He have a son when He does not have a companion? And He created all things, and He is, of all things, Knowing." (Al-An'am, 101) "Say: 'Who is Lord of the heavens and earth?' Say: 'Allah.' Say: 'Have you then taken besides Him allies not possessing [even] for themselves any benefit or any harm?' Say: 'Is the blind equivalent to the seeing? Or is darkness equivalent to light? Or have they attributed to Allah partners who created like His creation so that the creation [of each] seemed similar to them?' Say: 'Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Prevailing.'" (Ar-Ra'd, 16) "And they will say to their skins, 'Why have you testified against us?' They will say, 'We were made to speak by Allah, who has made everything speak; and He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned.'" (Fussilat, 21)

"Ya Khaliq": if someone recites this name at night, Allah, glorified and exalted, creates an angel who worships until the Day of Resurrection, and its reward belongs to that person. If a woman who has no child fasts for seven days and at the time of breaking her fast recites the names "Ya Musawwir, Ya Bari, Ya Khaliq" 21 times over water and blows upon it, and breaks her fast with that water, Almighty Allah grants her a righteous child out of regard for these names. For needs to be fulfilled, it is recited 731 times as "Ya Khaliq, jalla jalaluhu", together with supplication. Whoever has lost property or a son and recites it 5,000 times is reunited with what he has lost. The heart and the face of whoever persists in this remembrance for an hour at midnight are filled with light.
