Al-Wahhab

The One who gives without return, the Owner of gifts that never come to an end. Allah Almighty says: "Or do they have the depositories of the mercy of your Lord, the Exalted in Might, the Bestower?" (Sad, 9) The One who bestows upon His servants again and again, abundantly, without seeking any return. With regard to Allah, this name means comprehensive and boundless giving — giving always, without effort, expecting no return and pursuing no aim. Everyone else who gives, however, has some aim and interest, worldly or otherworldly, sooner or later. For this reason absolute giving applies to Allah alone, and it is not correct to use this attribute for anyone besides Him — for His gifts flow toward His servants always, in this world and the next, without interruption and without ever running dry. The gifts that come from Allah continue in this way, increasing for ever. The name Al-Wahhab encompasses all of Allah's bounty, benevolence, generosity, vast dominion and justice. Every Muslim should know that Allah Most High is the true Owner of all giving and gifts, and should believe that He is the absolute Bestower. He should strive to acquire something of this noble quality and give freely to people and to other creatures without expecting any return in this world or the next. The good and charity a Muslim performs beyond what is obligatory upon him, solely to earn Allah's pleasure, is counted as such a gift. Give to others from what Allah has given to you. Never be miserly with what Allah has entrusted to you temporarily, for He has promised that the more you give, the more He will give you. And He has made known that He will bring to ruin the wealth of the one who is miserly and withholds. If Allah has granted you important knowledge and learning that raise a person to high degrees, then you too should teach that knowledge to those in need of it, expecting no return. You should, however, take care not to give hidden secrets and knowledge to those unqualified for them.

For provision to be plentiful and easy, and to attain material and spiritual blessings, it is recited 14 times as "Ya Wahhab, jalla jalaluhu". If this noble name is recited persistently in prostration after the forenoon (duha) prayer, wealth is granted to the one who recites it.
