Ar-Razzaq

The Bestower of provision, who gives sustenance again and again, in abundance. Allah Almighty says: "And Allah gives provision to whom He wills without account." (Al-Baqarah, 212) "And how many a creature carries not its own provision. Allah provides for it and for you." (Al-'Ankabut, 60) It is Allah Most High alone who gives all living beings the provision by which they are nourished and live. There is no provider besides Him. Were Allah to spread provision abundantly for His servants, they would transgress upon the earth and become insolent. Allah expands the provision of whom He wills among His servants and restricts it for whom He wills. Indeed Allah knows all things fully. After the servant has pursued lawful means in seeking what he needs, he must turn to his Lord. Allah, who is deeply compassionate and merciful toward His servants, settles people upon lands filled with blessings beyond counting. Even without ploughing and sowing, the earth brings forth green produce and ears of grain. From within it come yellow, red, green and orange fruits and vegetables. The depths of the deep blue seas are filled with thousands of kinds of fish of every flavour. Along with all this, Allah feeds people the flesh of animals on land and of birds in the sky, brings pure milk out of livestock, and has the bees produce honey. All of this Allah bestows upon people. A reminder: The servant should expect provision from none but Allah and should not rely on or trust in anyone besides Him in this matter. Every Muslim should know that there is no absolute Provider other than Allah. Even if another appears to be giving him provision for his livelihood, in reality that person is giving what has been given to him. So give to others from what Allah has given you as provision, that Allah may give you more. Do not seek provision with excessive attachment, however needy you may be. Know that seeking provision with such attachment will certainly not increase what has been decreed for you. Only the provision decreed for you will reach you, and no more. So give up seeking provision in a way that debases you, and preserve your honour and self-respect.

To be delivered from difficulty in earning a livelihood, and to attain blessing and provision, it is recited 308 times as "Ya Razzaq, jalla jalaluhu". Whoever recites the noble name Ar-Razzaq 17 times where he has a need, his need concerning one who is sick or imprisoned is fulfilled. If it is recited a hundred times for a prisoner or a sick person, he is delivered. Whoever recites the noble name Ar-Razzaq ten times before the dawn prayer, facing the qibla if possible, God willing his provision is widened. One who has a need before those in authority, if he turns towards what he seeks and recites the noble name Ar-Razzaq 17 times, his request is granted. Whoever recites this noble name 20 times over water on an empty stomach and drinks it, God willing he comes to possess a mind that understands everything. Whoever recites the noble name Ar-Razzaq ten times after the Friday prayer, his heart is expanded and gladdened, and it finds healing from illnesses and distress. Whoever recites the noble name Ar-Razzaq a hundred times after the Friday prayer for a sick person, God willing that person finds healing. Those in material and spiritual distress, if they recite the noble name Ar-Razzaq a hundred times after the Friday prayer, come out into ease.
