Al-Ghani

The Self-Sufficient — exceedingly rich, in need of nothing, while everything besides Him is in need of Him. Allah Almighty says: "O mankind, you are those in need of Allah, while Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy." (Fatir, 15) "He is free of need. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth." (Yunus, 68) "And know that Allah is Free of need." (Al-Baqarah, 267) "If you disbelieve — indeed, Allah is Free from need of you." (Az-Zumar, 7) "And indeed, Allah is Free from need of the worlds." (Al-'Ankabut, 6) "To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy." (Al-Hajj, 64) "And whoever disbelieves — then indeed, Allah is Free from need of the worlds." (Al 'Imran, 97) He alone is the Rich One who, whether in His essence and attributes or in His works, is never in need of anything in any way at any time — while everything is in need of Him. Allah has no need of anyone's worship of Him. Their believing in Him and worshipping Him brings Him no benefit, just as their disbelieving and disobeying His commands brings Him no harm. Religion and worship are not Allah's need but the need of human beings. Among His creation it is human beings alone who are most in need of Allah. Since the human being was created weak, he can never, at whatever level he may be, escape his need of Allah; and the need felt by the human soul, which bears the trust, is so great that beside it other creatures could not even be called poor. And to satisfy this need of the human being there is no object of worship besides Allah. Others do not own even the skin of a date-stone, while Allah is Free of need. He alone is the One with no need whatsoever, self-sufficient in every respect, rich in the full sense of the word. Just as He has no need of your worship, He also possesses the power to satisfy all your needs.

The noble name Al-Ghaniyy is recited 1,060 times as "Ya Ghaniyy, jalla jalaluhu" in order to be independent of created beings, for trade to prosper and to become rich. When the noble name Al-Ghaniyy is recited over an illness or a calamity, the illness and the calamity depart. If someone recites it and wipes all his limbs with his hand, calamity is kept far from him.
