Al-Mughni

The Enricher, who makes rich whom He wills. Allah Almighty says: "And that it is He who enriches and suffices." (An-Najm, 48) "And He found you poor and made you self-sufficient." (Ad-Duha, 8) Allah is rich in Himself. The absolutely Rich One, who has need of nothing, is Allah. Everything besides Him is in itself in need of Him. The servant who imagines himself rich is, however rich he may be, still in need of the Lord who created him with his existence and his very essence. Allah gives His servant abundant blessings, showers upon him His mercy and beneficence, and grants generously both openly and in secret. The wretched servant, seeing that he possesses blessings temporarily, imagines that he too has a share in this vast universe. He looks upon himself not with the eye of one in need but with the eye of the rich. He forgets that he was created from nothing and the state of need and poverty he was in before. Whoever forgets his own reality, his poverty, his neediness and the necessity of his connection with his Lord, and therefore oversteps his bounds and rebels, is the loser. The richest person among people is the one who is conscious of how greatly he needs Allah. Such people are the most excellent of people in Allah's sight. Know that true wealth is attained only with Allah — for He is the One absolutely rich in Himself who is never in need of another. The fundamental characteristic of everything besides Him is neediness.

The noble name Al-Mughni is recited 1,100 times as "Ya Mughni, jalla jalaluhu" for provision to be plentiful, livelihood ample, and the heart to be filled with contentment. To the one who recites the noble name Al-Mughni 1,000 times every day, Allah Most High grants wealth out of His bounty and generosity. If a person persists in reciting the noble name Al-Mughni on ten Friday nights, 10,000 times each night, he sees its effect after this recitation: Allah Most High grants him wealth.
