Al-Latif

The Possessor of infinite grace and generosity — who knows the needs of His creatures down to the finest detail and meets them by imperceptible means; who knows every subtlety of the most delicate matters; and who conveys manifold benefits to His servants by hidden and unnoticed paths. Allah Almighty says: "Allah is Subtle with His servants; He gives provision to whom He wills. And He is the Powerful, the Exalted in Might." (Ash-Shura, 19) Allah is gracious toward His servants. He is exceedingly gracious to those servants who know their servanthood and fulfil their duty properly. He makes them so happy with manifold favours that minds are powerless to grasp it. He provides for whomever He wills in one way or another. He distinguishes each of His servants with a kind of grace according to His "will," which contains great wisdom. And He is so powerful and so mighty that He is able to enforce His will upon anything and anyone as He wishes and to fulfil His promise; He is never overcome in any manner or by any cause and prevails in every respect. So when that dreadful "Hour" comes, He will not abandon the servants who kept His religion aright, but will grant them a share of His manifold favours through His strength and might. His grace is infinite. Grace shown without expecting a return is Allah's grace. Whoever attains His grace is never brought to ruin. Our Lord's grace begins for us while we are still in the womb and continues until the soul reaches the throat. Then it continues in the grave, at the Gathering, at the Scales, on the Sirat and in Paradise.

The noble name Al-Latif is recited 129 times as "Ya Latif, jalla jalaluhu" in order to be delivered from trials, distress and every kind of evil, and for the doors of love, blessing, provision and good to be opened. Whoever recites the noble name Al-Latif a hundred times, saying "Ya Latif, jalla jalaluhu", attains divine kindness and is delivered from straitness.
